Graphic Design and Marketing Specialist

Position Primary Purpose: The Graphic Design and Marketing Specialist creates and maintains compelling design collateral and digital content that effectively communicates the work of United Way of Lane County to ensure children are successful in school and life. Understands marketing fundamentals, collaborates effectively with many teams, and successfully manages multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Functions

• Work across departments to create and support a consistent brand experience and compelling designs across multiple marketing touchpoints and audiences. This includes print, digital, and other marketing collateral
• Assist in the creative direction and development of all design elements for team members and stakeholders

• Conceptualize, design and produce print and digital collateral for all events and donor engagements, including social media and web graphics, invitations, flyers, brochures and other materials as needed

• Co-develop and help implement external digital communication strategy

• Execute organization-wide social media strategy

• Support website design aesthetic and ongoing updates
• Utilize and demonstrate knowledge of current trends in color, technology, communication and experience to develop unique design solutions
• Support photography/video creation and editing to align with creative direction
• Serve on and/or staff departmental and cross-functional committees in support of the organization's mission and goals

• Represent United Way of Lane County at community events
• Perform additional duties as assigned and work in other departments as required

Previous Experience

One to three years of previous experience in Graphic Design and Marketing         

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Demonstrated Abilities

Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and have experience with MS Office, including design and knowledge of

printing, color and online applications. Knowledge and understanding of marketing principles, attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, strong writing skills, commitment to equity and inclusion, and demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.
