Finance Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance Specialist is responsible for the day to day accounting activities that run through the organization, including revenue and expense, banking, donor pledges, payroll and assisting the Chief Financial Officer in managing internal operations of the organization.

This position works closely with all UWLC staff and departments; businesses; donors; nonprofit agency partners; vendors; government agencies. This position is connected to and engaged with peer Local United Ways and United Way Worldwide colleagues for continuous learning, growth and consideration of new ideas.

The Finance Specialist will effectively communicate with UWLC staff and external partners.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Accounts receivable and payable recording, reporting, and analysis with an eye on detail and the ability to recognize the appropriateness of postings.
  • Cash management responsibilities including reconciliations, banking relationships and monitoring cash on hand.
  • Payroll processing, benefit tracking and payments
  • Revenue receipts and expense distributions made timely in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Provide finance support to team members in all departments of the organization.
  • Assists CFO with external audit, including preparation of documentation and maintaining detailed records that supports tracing of all transactions.
  • Participates in fiscal issues related to finance and administration. Must demonstrate the ability to exercise judgement, initiative, and tact in dealing with coworkers and volunteers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Minimum of 2 years of full charge accounting experience at increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Reliable transportation for trips to the bank and post office.

SALARY STATEMENT

The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $20.16 – 29.03 hourly. The targeted salary for this hire is $22 - $23 hourly. Proffered salaries are determined by several factors including applicant's knowledge, ­­­skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
