Associate Director of Education
At United Way of Lane County (UWLC), we are proud to serve as the backbone organization for the Early Childhood Hub (ECH) of Lane County. We are currently seeking an Associate Director to join the Hub leadership team, to support strategic planning, partnership development, and the implementation of initiatives that improve outcomes for children, prenatal to age 5, and their families.
This role ensures effective program delivery, operational excellence, and alignment with community needs and state priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level, with or without accommodation:
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement strategic goals and operational plans; develop broad knowledge of all ECH programming and initiatives
- Lead and support early childhood initiatives aligned with Oregon's Early Learning Council and Raise Up Oregon framework.
- Provide leadership and supervision to program staff and oversee day-to-day operations of hub-funded initiatives.
- Support data-driven decision-making and continuous quality improvement.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with early learning providers, school districts, healthcare organizations, social service agencies, and culturally specific community-based organizations.
- Facilitate community engagement activities, ensuring equitable participation from historically underserved populations.
- Represent the Hub in county-wide and state-level early childhood forums and work groups.
- Assist in the development, submission, and management of grant proposals and budgets.
- Collaborate with fiscal and administrative staff to ensure proper allocation and reporting of funds.
- Develop inclusive policies, practices, and strategies that remove barriers to access for diverse families and providers.
- Use an equity lens in all decision-making and evaluation processes.
- This position will be required to attend occasional evening and weekend community and tabling events as a spokesperson and ambassador for UWLC and the ECH
- Perform other relevant duties and special projects as assigned.
- This position may require the use of a personal vehicle to attend work-related events and activities from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration or Non-Profit Management, Social Work, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5 years of relevant experience
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Experience working with Oregon's Early Learning Hubs or related systems preferred
- Experience in early childhood systems, public health, education, or community development.
- Proven leadership in cross-sector collaboration and community engagement.
- Experience managing programs or projects with multiple stakeholders and funding sources.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development, family engagement, and trauma-informed practices.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite basic applications – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint
WORKING CONDITONS
- Hybrid work environment with occasional travel within Lane County and the state for statewide meetings and conferences.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for community meetings or events.

SALARY STATEMENT
The budgeted salary range for this position is currently $57,000-$79,800 annually. Proffered salaries are determined by several factors including applicant's knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
United Way of Lane County's benefit package includes: 4-weeks of PTO and 10 paid holidays; employer paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, access to short-term and long-term disability insurance; employee assistance program (EAP); and a 403(b) plan.
