Position Summary:

The Annual Giving Coordinator will generate and increase resources of United Way of Lane County by leading a portfolio of diverse public and private sector partners across Lane County; to support workplace fundraising campaigns and engagement strategies (including networking, authentic participation, recognition, events, and other efforts); and to provide administrative and database support.

A day in the life of the Annual Giving Coordinator: You'll be spending a lot of your time out in the community, talking to business owners, leaders and employees about United Way's work, participating in professional networking groups, and building relationships that help United Way stay connected to the business community and grow partnerships. This will be balanced with detailed office work in partnership with team members from our finance and operations department to keep our database up to date. We're looking for someone who can be an authentic spokesperson and champion for our work, comfortable talking both one on one and in large groups, and who also has an eye for detail.

This position works closely with resource development, operations and marketing and communications staff and with all UWLC staff and departments; businesses; donors; nonprofit agency partners; community service groups; government agencies. This position is connected to and engaged with peer Local United Ways and United Way Worldwide colleagues for continuous learning, growth and consideration of new ideas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Ground fundraising efforts in anti-racism, systemic oppression, equity, wealth disparity, intersectionality, and other areas important to social justice.
  • Build relationships with current public and private sector partners, engage new, diverse partners, and increase participation in workplace fundraising campaigns.
  • Diversify UWLC workplace campaign partners through research and authentic relationship building with diverse prospects, with a focus on rural businesses and entities, BIPOC-owned and operated businesses and women-owned and operated businesses.
  • Generate revenue, leading and supporting a portfolio of diverse workplace fundraising campaigns, including goal setting, managing logistics, and recognition.
  • Helps to develop and implement rural engagement and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue, current and prospective donors.
  • Create opportunities for workplace partners and donors to further their understanding of the complexity of this work.
  • Approach fundraising efforts as holistic and transformative, not transactional.
  • Encourage fundraising partners to see how their organizations also benefit from the work they are contributing to sustain.
  • Generously share resources, ideas, and promising practices in fundraising and other areas with nonprofit partners and colleagues.
  • Authentically partner with our community members when asking them to be involved in fundraising efforts.
  • Contribute to a culture of philanthropy, accountability, and joy in fundraising.
  • Focus on networking and community building at diverse tables throughout Lane County.
  • Work with Marketing & Communications department to support larger United Way events.
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of database/donor tracking efforts and support communications.
  • Attend United Way and key community functions and events, as appropriate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree/equivalent relevant work experience and minimum 1 to 5+ years of successful fundraising or consultative sales experience, project/event management, and customer relations.
  • Bicultural, multicultural preferred
  • Bilingual preferred, particularly Spanish/English proficiency

SALARY STATEMENT

The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $18.11 to $22.64 per hour. Proffered salaries are determined by several factors including applicant's knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
